William Housewright
William Housewright is an instructional coach with the University of Chicago Urban Teacher Education Program. He coaches and provides ongoing professional development to UChicago UTEP early career educators and alumni, with a focus on equity-centered teaching, culturally responsive practice, and instructional leadership.
Prior to joining UTEP, Housewright spent over 13 years teaching, coaching, and facilitating professional development across three continents, working with a wide range of communities, including refugee, immigrant, and indigenous populations. His experience includes teaching in Chicago Public Schools, leading equity initiatives in New Zealand, and facilitating anti-oppression workshops across schools and community organizations in the Chicago area.
Housewright holds a BA in Documentary Film and Education from Columbia College, a postgraduate teaching certification from Northwestern University, and is a certified Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) facilitator through the National S.E.E.D. Project.
