Julie Furigay

Julie Furigay is an experienced educator and coach with over a decade of experience supporting new teachers through the University of Chicago Urban Teacher Education Program (UTEP). She currently serves as an Induction Coach, designing and delivering monthly professional development and providing individualized coaching to early career teachers. Prior to joining the University of Chicago’s Urban Education Institute, Julie taught in Chicago Public Schools for ten years. She previously served as a residency instructor and advisor within UTEP, contributing to the preparation and support of new educators. Julie holds a BA in Psychology from Spelman College and an MA in Education from National-Louis University. She is deeply committed to culturally responsive, equity-centered, and data-informed practices that support teacher growth, leadership, and well-being across all career stages.
