The University of Chicago Urban Teacher Education Program (UChicago UTEP) recorded an informational session to help prospective students explore more about what makes our program uniquely positioned to prepare prospective teachers not only to teach effectively, but also to leverage their career as a means to advance equity and social justice in urban contexts. At this informational session, UTEP Foundations Year instructor Kay Fujiyoshi discussed the unique seminar UTEP students take during their first year. A recent UTEP graduate also talked about her experiences in the seminar and her residency year, and UTEP alum Jonathan White discussed how the program's continuing supports helped him accomplish what he set out to do as a teacher: advance equity and social justice in an urban context. Read and watch Jonathan White's feature in the Chicago Tribune.
