Students eligible to apply to either the elementary or secondary UTEP program must have completed their third year at the University of Chicago, or be a graduate of the U of C or a comparable college or university. Students who have already completed their undergraduate degree will only be making a part time commitment during the first three quarters of the program; the second year of the program will be a full time commitment. Completion of the second year will result in certification and a Master’s degree.
Students intending to apply to UTEP's secondary program should have completed or be working to complete at least a minor in a Biology or Math related field at the University of Chicago, or should have completed such a degree at another university. Email the director of the secondary program, Doug O'roark (dougoroark@uchicago.edu), if you have questions regarding your eligibility.
Students accepted into UTEP will be reviewed regularly and must meet program requirements in order to successfully move into each stage of the program.
