Tinishia Legaux Washington is the interim leader of and foundations year instructor for the University of Chicago Urban Teacher Education Program. In this role, Ms. Legaux Washington provides oversight of UChicago UTEP's program operations and student affairs, teaches UTEP's math methods courses, and supervises UTEP interns' clinical work in the first year of the program.

Ms. Legaux Washington has also served in several other roles at the University of Chicago since 2003, including Director of Academic and Social Services at the UChicago Charter School’s Carter G. Woodson (CGW) campus and math coach at UChicago Charter’s CGW and North Kenwood/Oakland campuses. Prior to joining the University, Ms. Legaux Washington taught fourth and fifth grade in the Chicago Public Schools district.

Ms. Legaux Washington holds an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership from National Louis University, an MAT from Columbia College, and a B.A. in Rehabilitation Services and Psychology from Southern University.
